Insert a File
You are able to insert a pdf, docx, jpg, .mov.
Before you can insert a Word document (docx), the Word application must be closed. When you select the file the Word file opens in Word, then opens in Notebook.
You can not insert pages, xlsx, rtf. To insert these types of files, save them as a pdf.
You can insert a file from the top menu or from the Insert icon Insert.pngon your tool bar. Select Insert File, navigate to the file, click on the file - click Open.

Insert a Screen Clipping
You can take a screen clipping from your computer web and insert it into your document. It comes in as an image.
You can insert a screen clipping from the top menu or from the Insert icon Insert.pngon your tool bar - choose Insert - click on Screen Clipping. Your screen will go grey, your screen clipping tools appear at the top of the page. Screen_clipping_tool.png You can use the square, circle, lasso, or full screen to capture.


Clone an Image
Insert the image you want to clone into your Notebook page. With the image selected go to Insert and click on Clone. A blue square will appear around the image. If you want to remove the blue square, select the image, go to Format, select Locking - choose Lock. This will remove the blue square and lock the image in place.

Create a Hyperlink
You can link objects to a page in your Notebook, a website or a file. Insert the image you want to link. With the image selected go to Insert and click on Hyperlink. Hyperlink.pngIn this window select where your link will Link To, navigate to your fileor enter the web address.
If you want to remove the blue square, select the image, go to Format, select Locking - choose Lock. This will remove the blue square and lock the image in place. You can tell if an image has a link by the small yellow chain that appears when you mouse over the image.

Tools and Templates in Gallery
Use the Multimedia tools to make your Notebook files more interactive and fun. Have an arrow appear with a boing sound to indicate a correct answer. Place a colored bubble over a graphic or arrow to reveal an answer. Have a colored Checkmark or X appear with a ding or boing. Choose a reveal shade from the bottom, left, right, or top. Have a colored star reveal an answer.

Tips and Tricks
-Type text in white or the same color as the background. Fill a square or a circle with a color. Drag the colored shape over the white text to reveal.

-Copy and paste a paragraph into a text box for a lesson on research and pulling out important ideas. High an important idea. You can drag that out of the text box, but the original text will stay with the paragraph text.
